If hand washing is unavoidable, proceed with extreme care:
Use cold water only (under 25°C / 77°F) and a mild, neutral detergent.
Do not soak. Submerge briefly and gently agitate without rubbing or twisting. Pay special attention to support the gathered and voluminous sections.
Never wring or twist. Carefully press out water, then roll the garment in a clean, absorbent towel to remove excess moisture without distorting the shape.
Lay flat to dry on a clean, dry towel or a mesh drying rack in a cool, shaded place. Gently reshape the gathers, hemline, and overall drape while damp. Never hang or tumble dry, as the weight of wet acetate can cause permanent stretching and deformation.
